The popular „Super
Summer Camp“ in Flims, Switzerland, attracted once again 600
skaters of all levels over six weeks in
July and August. The athletes from all over the world enjoyed perfect
conditions in the beautiful mountain area of the “Prau La Selva”
sports centre. The ice rink was busy from 7 am to 10 pm without a
break, additionally professional coaches and instructors taught
ballett, dance and athletics. Viktor Kudriavtsev, one of the best
skating technique specialists of the world and his wife Marina headed
the coaching team. Olympic Champion Ilia Kulik took over in the
second part of the camp.
The summer camp
exists now for 16 years and grew from a small idea to the complete
and international event it is today. This year, World- and Olympic
level skaters such as Kristoffer Berntsson, Sarah Meier, Jamal
Othman, Moris Pfeifhofer, Gregor Urbas, World Junior Champion Aliona
Leonova as well as up and coming skaters such as Alexander and
Vladimir Uspenski, Ivan Bariev and U.S. Juniorchampion DeeDee Leng
prepared for the season in Flims. They were joined by athletes from
many European countries, Turkey, the USA and even Mexico.
